About me and my work

Let me introduce myself.

Artistic approach

A few years ago, at the beginning of my production technique " oil on canvas", there was a fruit-piece with a grape. Here I had noticed for the first time that the cluster of the balls showed the space in depth and even if we can see only a part of some of the balls, our fantasy and perception of objects automatically completed the hidden parts. After this experience several pictures followed, which displayed the simple objects (balls) in the space. Further I combined this one with a mutual contrast of colours, light and shadow. It was a test, a training and a natural exercising. A play with the space and the perspective.

The next important milestone occurred for me when I had visited an exhibition of paintings by Julius Marak. His amazing natural sceneries hit me so much so I began to paint the natural sceneries of my nearest surroundings. After that I replaced the balls cluster of the grape by the tree trunks, branches and twigs, leaves and bushes in the background. I started to perceive the landscape around me like the grape. At the painting, I proceed on the layer by layer that means I build my pictures from furthermost objects to the nearest. Further the light colour hues are in background, dark colours are placed in the foreground.

I would feature my pictures as very detailed. Every leaf, every branch or twig, every snow flake creates the significant part of the scenery. The nature is built of details, of the mini-sized small components that are hardly visible to the naked eye. And there is not in both time and technical possibilities of the painter to record all of them. Nevertheless, I am convinced I could get near them partially at least. In connection of this I often ask myself: Where is the detail limit which the painter is able to depict? Sometimes I feel like an athlete who tries to break a record. And how many pictures can I manage to paint yet within my prescribed time? Tens? Hundreds? I have found my every painting could be the last one that is why it has to be painted just to do my best.

I do not hold own exhibitions nevertheless I regularly take part the annual exhibition "Ustecky salon" in the town Usti nad Orlici which enables to the regional artists to show their art pieces.
